Teaching Philosophy

My approach to teaching is centred on creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, engage actively with course materials, and apply theoretical insights to contemporary global challenges. I aim to combine care with rigour, ensuring that students not only gain a strong grasp of Political Science and International Relations but also develop analytical and transferable skills that prepare them for diverse career paths.

Supervision and Mentoring

I have co-supervised two MSc theses and examined four others on topics ranging from the Russian war in Ukraine to farmer–herder conflicts in the Sahel. During my 2022 fieldwork in Nigeria, I mentored four undergraduate research assistants in data collection, coding, and academic writing, equipping them with skills for future academic and professional work.
